Hi there! My name is Adam. I am currently a video scout with The New York Mets Baseball Club. I'm also in graduate school for elementary education. Baseball is my summer passion while teaching is the remainder of the year. This will be my second season with New York Mets as a video scout. Last year the Mets went 88-74 and ended up in 3rd place in the National League East. This year however, the Mets are setting their goals a little higher - The NL Wild Card. |
You might be wondering what a video scout does. Well, it's quite simple. We record opposing teams as well as Mets games off of 3 DSS satellite systems...we then edit the games down to a specific starting pitcher or batter/lineup...and then give Manager Bobby Valentine, his coaching staff, or even the players the videos to watch. The coaches and players then study the video - learning what they're (The Mets) doing right...or wrong. On the other hand, they look for patterns in an opposing pitchers game-strategy or try to figure out where an opposing team's batters like the ball the most. It's a fascinating process. Spring Training Update: March 18, 1998 New York Mets (12-9, 6th place - Grapefruit League) beat the Houston Astros today by the score of 7-2. Home Runs: Bernard Gilkey (2), Butch Huskey (2,3). The Mets have now won 2 in a row after losing two straight to American League teams. Dave Mlicki got the win for the Mets.
